RETURN FROM THE MOLDOVA MISSION

From September 18 to 25, 2024, Mrs. Linda Ammendola, Secretary General, Mrs. Emanuela Bartoli, Administrator, Mr. Nicolas Ryter, Project Coordinator and Mr. luca Ammendola, photographer and filmmaker, carried out a mission to monitor all the projects supported by MAP in Chisinau, the country’s capital, and across the country, from Cahul in the south to Balti in the north. For over 20 years, MAP has focused on community development and education, through its partner association, the local NGO Diaconia, founded in 2001 to support vulnerable communities, specifically children and the elderly at high risk of social exclusion. During the mission, the MAP delegation followed up on the projects funded, namely: the Rosu Village Social Canteen, which provides 30 children and 44 elderly people with a daily hot meal; the Saseni Village Community Center, which offers 56 children from vulnerable families with educational support and extracurricular activities; the Cahul Town Community Center, which supports 50 disadvantaged children; the Clothing Bank, which provides 1. 475 people a year; and the Mobile Social Canteen, which provides 335 beneficiaries in Chisinau’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods with a daily hot meal. The visit to the various centers was also an opportunity to present around a hundred beneficiary children with a gift, consisting of a kit filled with school equipment, to encourage them to succeed in their studies.
