From April 12 to 25, 2024, Mr. Nicolas Ryter, project
We were delighted to receive a visit from Father Renato Chiara, founder of Casa do Menor in Brazil, a long-standing partner of MAP, which cares for children, young people and families living on the streets in the difficult outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, marked by drugs, violence and abandonment. This year, MAP is supporting two complementary projects currently being implemented: the setting up of vocational training workshops for 400 young people, and a project to promote entrepreneurship as a logical follow-up to the training project, to give beneficiaries the tools they need to create their own income-generating activity.
During our next field mission, scheduled for early October 2023, we’ll be inaugurating the refurbishment of the Casa do Menor head office refectory, on which work will shortly begin.
MAP ensures that all projects are designed to meet the direct needs of the beneficiaries, in accordance with local socio-cultural contexts, and aims to promote long-term self-sufficiency.
