Our history

MAP was created in 1979 in response to a television report on war-torn Cambodia. A team of 30 volunteers – doctors and nurses – decided to go to the country to help the civilian population. This event triggered MAP’s first humanitarian action and the beginning of a long history.

Since then, MAP has expanded its presence around the world, thanks to the work of its members, volunteers and local leaders, who have coordinated their efforts to build sustainable projects in the fields of education, health, community development and emergency aid.

H.S.H Prince Albert II

In 1979, H.S.H. Princess Grace became the first Honorary President of MAP when she welcomed the group of volunteers back from Cambodia. In 1982, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince Albert II succeeded his mother, and has since been closely associated with MAP, honouring several field missions with His Presence. With his watchful eye and unwavering support, MAP can care for the most vulnerable.

our philosophy

MAP ensures that all projects are designed to meet the direct needs of the beneficiaries, in accordance with local socio-cultural contexts, and aims to promote sustainable self-sufficiency. Thanks to its trusted local representatives and regular field missions, MAP ensures a rigorous follow-up of all the projects it supports, both internationally and locally.

Our Strengths

how we help

Thanks to our in-depth knowledge, and that of our local managers, of the different realities experienced by the beneficiaries, and to a rigorous process of project selection by its Board of Directors, MAP ensures the sustainability of projects and their implementation around 4 main axes:

Construction, rehabilitation and operation of schools and orphanages, educational support, scholarships, vocational training.
