From November 7 to 15, 2024, Ms. Emanuela Bartoli, Administrator,
The Ain Ebel hospital, located 3 hours south of Beirut, is run by the Lebanese army. A former medical facility administered by the Maronite Church, rehabilitation and expansion work began in early 2020. The majority of the region’s inhabitants are Shiite, but the facility welcomes patients of all faiths. During the mission in November 2021, Ms. Pilar Klemm and Mr. Nicolas Ryter visited the different rooms fitted out with the material donated by MAP in 2020. Once completed, this structure should be able to accommodate 10 to 15,000 people per year, and will serve the entire region, which currently only has the nearest hospital in Beirut.
