In 2002, following a visit by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco to Yaoundé, MAP financed the construction of the Edimar Centre – Princess Grace House. The institution welcomes more than 160 young people in street situations every day and aims to offer them a better future and to support them in the development of their life projects. For almost 20 years, MAP has supported the Centre Edimar and contributes each year to cover part of its operating costs. Since 2020, an educational and professional scholarship program has been launched for 30 children and young people, with the support of the Government of Monaco. A second 3-year phase has been selected, and will be financed until 2026.

To support Centre Edimar in its family, social and professional reintegration programmes for children and young people living on the streets.

Activities carried out

Annual contribution to the operating costs of the Centre Edimar. Since 2020, full coverage of the Centre's salary costs. 45.571 €
Support for the Centre's 6 main areas of action: education, health, integration into host families or family reintegration, awareness of family life, vocational training and income-generating activities (IGA), leisure and collective activities.
Financing, with the support of the Monegasque Cooperation, of an educational and professional scholarship programme for motivated children and young people, ensuring regular monitoring and a family environment conducive to their success in order to combat school drop-out and social exclusion.

Recent funding

MAP ensures that all projects are designed to meet the direct needs of the beneficiaries, in accordance with local socio-cultural contexts, and aims to promote long-term self-sufficiency.
